Chief Patron - Raghuvinder Kataria
Mr. Raghuvinder Kataria, born in Simbholi in 1949, is an entrepreneur and a global investor. He studied in England and pursued a large part of his career as an entrepreneur in the telecom industry. His main Telecom career started with treasury department in ICL which was then acquired by STC, and which was subsequently acquired by Northern Telecom. His experience as the vice group treasurer exposed him to deal with International large corporations and leading financial institutions.
Imbued with a determination to make good and an entrepreneurial nature, Mr. Raghuvinder Kataria left the service sector and ventured out in his own business activity. He has amassed his fortune through prudent investments in various asset classes globally and dabbled in several businesses but his destiny was chartered early in the piece when he engineered to set up his Telecom company when India invited international participants for Telecom and sold his telecom company JT Telecom to Bharti Enterprises - one of the largest telecom companies in India. He was given founding shares ownership for sale of his company. The trade name is Bharti Airtel.
Mr. Kataria is often described as "tireless" and a person who pays "attention to the minutest detail. He is a well-recognised individual in the NRI community in Dubai and is extremely affluent and well respected. He lives with his family at Emirates Hills Community in Dubai and is involved in charitable activities across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. He is married to Shital Kataria of Indian origin and has a son and daughter.
