Padma Shri, Dr. B C Roy National Awardee & DST National Science Communication Awardee, Dr. KK Aggarwal, President Heart Care Foundation of India is currently the National Senior Vice President (Elect) of Indian Medical Association.
He is also Senior Physician, Preventive Cardiologist and Dean Board of Medical Education Moolchand Medcity, Member Ethics Committee Medical Council of India, Chairman Ethics Committee Delhi Medical Council, President Heart Care Foundation of India, Editor in Chief IJCP Group of Publications and eMednewS and Chairman Legal Cell Indian Academy of Echocardiography.
He has served in the past as Chairman, IMA Academy of Medical Specialties; National Honorary Finance Secretary IMA; Director IMA AKN Sinha Institute, President Delhi Medical Association, President IMA New Delhi Branch and Chairman Delhi Chapter of International Medical Sciences academy. He has also served as visiting Professor Clinical Research DIPSAR.
During MBBS he topped Nagpur University in 1st and 2nd years and amongst male candidates in the final MBBS. He also topped Nagpur University in the aggregate of all the MBBS marks taken together and received two University gold medals. He received Distinctions in Physiology, Ophthalmology, Forensic Medicine and a Medal in every subject (four Gold Medals, nine Silver Medals, and five Bronze Medals). At MGIMS Sevagram he was declared as the Best Graduate of the College in 1979.

Rafi award of excellence (2008).His contributions to the Social cause has also been recognized when he got Dr B C Roy National Award (Govt. if India) for the year 2005 in the field of socio medical relief (received in 2008).
He is world-class clinical echocardiographer, writer, author, anchor, orator, columnist, health communicator, social worker, educator, teacher, trainer, conceptualizer, visualizer, creator, organizer, preacher, administrator, advisor, social activist, researcher and meditation teacher par excellence.
He has contributed to six chapters in International Textbook on Echocardiography (by Navin C Nanda), 14 International Publications (Am J of Cardiology, Circulation, Journal of Medicine and Echocardiography, a Journal of Clinical Ultrasound), 115 publications in Indexed National Journals (namely JAPI, Indian Heart Journal, Indian Journal of Heart Research) and over 350 publications in review Indian Journals.
He has many first ever to his credit. He started streptokinase therapy with Dr. K L Chopra’s team in 1984 and started the technique of Colour Doppler Echocardiography in North India in year 1988. He conceptualized and organized the first ever (1993) and now annually held “Perfect Health Mela” and “Run for your Heart” (1991). On both occasions, Govt. of India released National Postal Commemorative Stamps (INR 6.50 & 1 respectively). Later, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Govt. of India adopted this module under the National Health Policy (health mela).
He established the department of Holistic Medicine at Apollo hospital (1998-2000), is regular writer in Navbharat Times, Dainik Jagran, HT UK edition; has produced and co-directed 52 episodes on “Body Mind and Soul” on DD News (year 2000); coordinated 102 episodes of live phone-in TV programme “Healthy India” for DD Bharti with specialists on all pathies (2002-04). He has also contributed over 400 articles in newspapers and magazines and appearances in electronic media. He has been quoted over 10,000 times in the national media. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the IJCP Group of Publications – with over 30 journals, newspapers and health care educational products catering to doctors.
He was the convener of health advisory committee DD Bharti (year 2002), a governing council member of College of Applied Sciences Univ. of Delhi (1999-2001), member Delhi Legal Service Authority (1997-98), member of committee for experts for control of cardiovascular diseases Ministry of Health GOI (1995-96); Delhi coordinator for the Year of Scientific Awareness by Department of Science and Technology GOI (2004); Member of Manviya Sanrakshan Abhiyan Samiti Ministry of HRD (2004) and on the committee for Medical Informatics Ministry of Health and Family welfare Govt. of India (2005-06). He has developed training modules for Police, HIV training for DSACS and for blood motivators for Dept. of Science and Technology GOI.
